![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by an advocate B Ramkumar Adityan who sought a direction to conduct the Soorasamharam festival on the seashore on November 20 and Thirukalyanam inside the temple on November 21, on the occasion of the Kandha Shasti festival as per tradition at the Tiruchendur temple in Tuticorin district. The court observed that since devotees would not be permitted to witness the Soorasamharam and Thirukalyanam, television channels should be permitted to live telecast the events. Madurai: The state government on Thursday informed the Madras high court that the Soorasamharam of the Tiruchendur Murugan temple would be conducted on the seashore and the Thirukalyanam inside the premises. ![]()
